Gampo Marine Tourism Complex was designated in 1993 with the goal of developing marine leisure facilities along the East Coast. It aims to become an experiential tourism hub utilizing the East Coast's history, culture, and natural resources.
The complex is designed to complement Bomun Tourist Complex, an inland tourism destination, with the broader aim of making Gyeongju Korea’s largest tourism zone. Through this synergy, it will serve as a key tourism hub for the Southeast Tourism Zone and the East Coast Tourism Belt.
Development projects are ongoing to establish the complex as a centerpiece for national history and cultural exploration as well as marine recreation activities, providing clean and wholesome leisure facilities for all visitors.

Located on the pristine East Sea, known for its clarity and beauty, and supported by the renowned Gyeongju area, Gampo Marine Tourism Complex is set to become a premium marine tourism destination in Korea. Together with the “sightseeing and learning” focus of Bomun Tourist Complex and the “participation and enjoyment” aspect of Gampo Marine Tourism Complex, these areas are being developed into a world-class, comprehensive tourism complex where visitors can experience history, culture, and recreation on an international level.
